Date:	Preliminary Rounds will be held at the DCAT studio on School Street, on Friday, June 6, 7 to 9 p.m.; Sunday, June 8, noon to 3 p.m.; Monday, June 9, 7 to 9 p.m. The preliminaries will be televised on DCAT beginning June 14. Description:	New to the Family Festival Event offering, Danvers Idol will let you showcase your talent! Preliminary tryouts will be filmed at DCAT over the course of a couple of evenings. Participants will be asked to perform an a cappella song. The finalist will be invited to the Rotary Pavilion on July 2^nd to sing with their own accompaniment CD. The Danvers Idol will receive several prizes, including special VIP seating at the fireworks for 4 friends and family, and an opportunity to sing on stage at the fireworks event in front of over 40,000 people. Watch the papers, and the website, for more details to come. Rules: Danvers Idol contestants must be age 16 or older. Bring identification to the auditions. Parental consent is required for contestants under age 18. The preliminary audition will involve singing for one minute without music — just as it happens on American Idol. The final round will have a sound system; contestants will be asked to bring a CD of their music.
