Chairman's Welcome!

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN…START PLANNING YOUR FAMILY FESTIVAL CELEBRATIONS NOW!

The 2008 Family Festival Committee is excited to announce our most lively festival yet. New and improved events maintain the charm of yesteryear while creating excitement and fun for your family and friends as we kick off the summer together.

The festivities begin on Friday, June 20th at the Champagne Gala and Baron Mayer Award ceremony. We have kept the best of the old and added some new touches that are sure to please all who attend. This year’s award recipient is indeed deserving of the honor. If you enjoy a country-style craft fair, then Endicott Park Day is for you and I hope that you will mark your calendars now for this event. Bring along friends, neighbors and sports enthusiasts to take part in events such as our pie baking contest, doll carriage parade and annual Fireman’s Muster. The challenge is on! Come defend your title at our 2nd annual Dog Party, where four legged friends and their families walk the red carpet. Enjoy the Strawberry Festival and then walk off that shortcake in the new North Shore ARC Walk and Family Celebration for a very noble cause.

We have tweaked the Scoop-Ah-Bowl to make it swifter and sweeter than ever to sample ice cream from our local merchants. How many towns do you know that block off their downtown for a night of dancing in the streets? Back by popular demand, Oldies Night will feature Roundabout. Thanks to Atlas Pyrotechnics we will bring you the most brilliant state-of-the-art fireworks show this July 3rd! Come down to the Plains Park for surprises along with presentations and a salute to our local service men and women. Who does not love a parade? The fun continues on July 4th at the Highlands Horribles and Back Bay parades. We have events for young and old, with just too many to describe here. So, keep an eye out for detailed schedules and information on our web site and in local newspapers.

Did you know that the Danvers Family Festival relies on donations from people like you, and from fundraisers and our corporate sponsors? Your funding allows us to offer almost all of the events free of charge, and when there is a charge for an event, it covers a particular expense. We need your help and support to keep this tradition going.

Consider volunteering even for just a few hours or sending a donation when you receive your mail-a-thon letter. Anything you do is greatly appreciated and will help ensure that the Danvers Family Festival continues. If you would like to help out, send a note or your donation to:
